1. ARRIVAL ON SITE
Aquashield Roof Protection do not use subcontractors, all staff are fully trained on the application of our unique AQUA-THERM roof coating system. All on-site supervisors are qualified roofers, and capable of carrying out any pre-coating repairs necessary to the roof.
2. JOB RISK ASSESSMENT
Prior to the commencement of any work a full risk assessment and visual roof survey to the property is carried out, any hazards are identified ie overhead cables, access to the roof, specialist safety equipment requirement etc. Public liability and employers liability insurance to the value of 2 million pounds on each job is held by the company.
3. HEALTH & SAFETY
Aquashield take the Health & Safety responsibility of all employees very seriously, to the extent that we have designed and tested our own safety anchor system and we have extensively documented our procedures.
4. SET UP PROCEDURE
Preparation is a very important part of our installation process ensuring the job is carried out efficiently with the minimum amount disruption to our customers, and their neighbours. Where possible we remove garden items prior to covering the areas below where the work is to be carried out. We notify neighbours asking them to remove washing, cars from driveways etc. as a precaution in case a guest of wind blows some moss in their direction.
5. ROOF WASHING
The roof washing process is not only to remove moss and lichen from the tile surface, but it is only after clearing with our special turbo nozzle that we can identify any area of the roof that requires remedial attention prior to coating. After washing, the fungicidal solution is applied either via the spray unit, or using a back pack.
6. ROOF REPAIRS
Our full inspection establishes what roof repairs are necessary prior to the coating process. Typically this will include replacing all broken or cracked tiles and re-pointing ridges and verges as necessary. Note: there is no need to replace tiles with the corners missing due to tile overlap; this does not affect the integrity of the roof or the guarantee.
7. COATING PROCESS
The installation team will brush coat all edges by hand and then use our specialist airless spray equipment to apply our unique coating system. Two coats will be applied to the tiles; depending on weather conditions this will be done one coat straight after the other as the first coat will normally contact dry.
8. CLEAN UP
Care is taken at the start of any job by putting covers down to reduce the amount of mess and throughout the process we try and keep mess to a minimum. Removing 40 plus years of moss and lichen is not a clean job, however, great care is taken on completion of the work to make sure that the property is returned to the condition it was in when we arrived.
9. CUSTOMER INSPECTION
High customer satisfaction is very important to Aquashield. At this stage the customer is invited to inspect not only the work that has been carried out on their roof, but also to make sure we have cleaned up not only their property but also their neighbours.
10. PAYMENT
On completion of the work customers are expected to pay for the work in full, Aquashield offer four methods of payment depending on the customer’s individual circumstances.
- Cash
- Cheque
- Debit Card
- Finance
